Thirsty for Justice (2013)
38min · Documentary, Short, News · 1 January 2013
This is a story about a stark injustice facing hundreds of thousands of Californians every day: lack of access to clean, safe, affordable water for their basic needs. They live in rural areas and urban centers, on tribal lands and hard concrete. Their stories call out to us, as fellow citizens and fellow human beings. And their message is simple: water is a human right. This is also a story of celebration - of a diverse grassroots movement that helped make California the first state in the nation to legislatively recognize the Human Right to Water. Finally, it's a story about the future, and the choices and challenges that await us all as we strive to protect water resources for ourselves and for future generations.
