Sound Gone Mad (2015)
30min · Documentary, Music · 1 January 2015
Sound Gone Mad is a ruff ethnographic documentary of Dubstep bass-music genre. The film is based on our encounters with indie music producers and DJs in club nights, backrooms, home studios, and pirate radio stations in Helsinki, London and New York in 2009-2012. Dubstep scene has evolved from a small-scale underground community into a global mainstream sound and phenomenon. A story of contradiction and emergence unfolds that is perhaps characteristic of contemporary music scenes at the mercy of accelerated digitalization and forces of market co-optation.
