It Is No Measure of Health to be Well Adjusted to a Profoundly Sick Society (2013)
16min · Documentary, Short, Biography · 1 January 2013
A new and exciting video artist is showcasing self-portraits that show her succumbing to the pressures of contemporary culture. She is a woman obsessed with status, substance abuse, charity, love and the loss of self. She questions the world, its fixations and the pursuit of personal happiness. Interspersed with contextual clips, as well as seemingly unrelated statements, the whole becomes an unsettling journey through substance abuse, anxiety and loss of self. This artist has nowhere to hide, and her autobiographical works tell the story of a divided life style that swings relentlessly between the good and the bad. Her portraits are emotional, seductive and darkly humorous. They sit somewhere between reality and fantasy.
