Dangerous Afternoon (1961)

This story is about a collection of older ladies living in a boarding house run by their acquaintance, Miss Letty Frost.She has an air or respectability. It quickly becomes apparent that these ladies have special skill sets tending to larceny. Miss Letty looks after them all, supports them and even cares for a young lady who lives outside the home, her ward or niece. Along comes a horrible woman, who reveals to us that they were formerly from a prison and that Miss Letty became injured upon the event of her escape; explaining her confinement to a wheelchair. She plans to blackmail the protagonist and run the boarding home to suit herself, riding roughshod over the current residents. She threatens to reveal Miss Frost's past to the "niece". However, Miss Frost dispatches her with some poisoned libations. A friend, while disposing of the body, wrecks and dies, exposing the murder. The priest puts it all together and tells Miss Frost he will not tell, but reminds her of judgment in the afterlife. She then goes to the police and confesses all. Fade scene.
