A group of Hawaiian historians and history activists work to complete a year-long project designed to digitize 60,000 pages of Hawaiian language newspapers and publish them online, using the efforts of volunteer typists in the community. The film highlights their work in particular in bringing the digitization effort into a women's correctional facility in Hawaii, and the effect working on the project and learning the history the newspapers hold had on the women inmates, approximately 40% of whom are of Native Hawaiian descent.
